We asked the founder of Aromababy Natural Skincare and mother of two, Catherine Cervasio, for three easy steps to help keep your baby more comfortable, relaxed and fresh, during your next flight.

STEP 1 – Soothe

Before take-off, warm a small amount of Aromababy’s Baby Massage Oil with soothing rose, between your hands. Massage your child’s arms, chest, legs and feet (or whatever body part you have access to – the back of the neck is also very relaxing) with the oil. Use long, fluid and firm strokes where possible and hum, speak softly or even whisper to your child to further enhance this relaxing experience.

For older children, quiet, short storytelling can be done whilst you are massaging, as a way to encourage your child to engage with you long enough to get through a few minutes of massage. Even a short massage could end up providing in-flight relief and relaxation for an extended period.

STEP 2 – Hydrate

Keep your child’s skin well hydrated with unscented Pure Baby Moisture Cream. For older babies or those with extremely sensitive skin, try Aromababy’s Natural Baby Lotion with organic avocado, jojoba and evening primrose oils. Also unscented (free of essential oils), this is a richer and more emollient moisturiser, ideal for eczema and dermatitis sufferers too (including adults and older children).

STEP 3 – Protect

If your child is using nappies or pull-ups, use moisturising Aromababy’s luxury Moisturising Nappy Change Cream or Barrier Balm to care for the skin during each nappy change. The natural vitamin e and soothing chamomile in both products help to moisturise and then protect the skin, by leaving a light film of nourishing oils.

Rest assured, both of these nappy care products smell heavenly – so fellow passengers won’t mind at all. The Barrier Balm can also be used for chapped lips during flight, as a nail and cuticle balm and for dry, cracked heels and elbows.
