Avoid
using skincare products with added colour, artificial fragrance,
peanut oil, animal ingredients and petro-chemicals (no Aromababy
product contains any of these) which are commonly linked
to skin irritation.
Try
to avoid washing Baby too frequently - once daily is ample
(for some babies every second day is fine). If cradle cap
is present, try to avoid washing the hair too often. Use
a mild shampoo substitute (such as our Pure Hair Cleanse)
every second day and massage Sweet Almond Oil or Barrier
Balm into the scalp every other day, and again for some
babies washing the scalp only once or twice a week is ample.
If
breastfeeding, avoid too much sugar, oranges or orange juice,
tomatoes, chocolate and peanuts. Be sure to include plenty
of fresh or filtered water, fresh fruits and vegetables
and fish (which contain omega 3 fatty acids; these act as
natural anti-inflammatory agents on problem skin - contact
the Australian Breastfeeding Association at http://www.breastfeeding.asn.au/index.html
